Subsidised rides for care home staff

We’re pleased to announce that Uber Medics is back, offering 25% off rides for all NHS and UK care home staff, or 50% off if they pay with MasterCard.

Sign up your care home organisation to Uber Medics:

What is Uber Medics?

Many drivers have asked us how they can provide help to those who need it during the COVID-19 pandemic. That’s why we’re launching Uber Medics – a new product in the Uber app which provides 25% cheaper rides to NHS staff and care home organisations until end of-December.* Uber will not make any money from these trips, and drivers will receive the same fares on Uber Medics trips as normal Uber trips.**

*T&Cs apply: Please find terms and conditions of this offer here.
*This is because Uber is paying 25% of the fare on the rider’s behalf.

Tips for safe riding

We are especially thankful to drivers whose efforts are critical to supporting key healthcare staff during this challenging time. We ask that you please keep your driver’s wellbeing in mind by:

  • Washing your hands (or use hand sanitiser) before entering the vehicle
  • Giving your driver space by sitting in the back seat on the left hand side of the vehicle
  • Covering your mouth or nose if you cough or sneeze (take any used tissues with you)
  • You may also want to open the window to improve ventilation.
Drivers have been given the same steps to ensure rides with Uber are as safe as possible. Uber is also providing drivers with free protective masks and gloves to wear while driving, and have asked drivers to disinfect their cars between trips, paying special attention to areas where riders sit and touch, like the car door, handle, seat belt, and seat.
