On Thursday, October 28, at 10am PT, Uber experts Marian Macindoe (Head of Environmental, Social, and Governance) and Adam Gromis (Senior Manager, Public Policy) will discuss the importance of climate change and sustainability actions and how incorporating these factors into your corporate strategy can boost your bottom line. .
Marian Macindoe is Head of ESG Strategy & Engagement at Uber. She engages with investors on ESG issues and is responsible for producing Uber's ESG reports. Prior to Uber, she was Director of Investment Stewardship at Charles Schwab where she developed policies and voted all proxies for Schwab Funds. Her career includes ~7 years as an investor/ESG subject matter expert at Chevron and ~7 years as Director of ESG Research at Glass Lewis, a leading global proxy advisor.
Marian has a BA from Reed College in International and Comparative Policy Studies (Economics) and an MSc from London School of Economics in Regional and Urban Planning. She sits on the board of a nonprofit that serves youth transitioning out of foster care, First Place for Youth, based in Oakland, CA.
Adam Gromis is Uber’s global lead on sustainability policy. Sustainability and cross-disciplinary engagement are running themes throughout his work experience in nonprofit, government, and for-profit. Before Uber, he worked for 5 years helping investors build impact investing portfolios with positions at Goldman Sachs Wealth Management, Imprint Capital, and the Global Impact Investing Network. Before impact investing, Adam spent 7 years engaged in efforts to commercialize zero-emission vehicle technologies with positions at the California Fuel Cell Partnership, the California Air Resources Board, and UTC Fuel Cells.
He holds an MBA from NYU Stern, an MPA from NYU Wagner, and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and materials science from UC Davis. Adam sits on the board of Veloz, a nonprofit dedicated to accelerating the shift to electric cars through public-private collaboration, public engagement, and policy education innovation.
Laura Faith is a well-respected executive coach and people leader, known for elevating people and teams into the best version of themselves. With more than 30 years’ experience, she has demonstrated versatility, holding human resource leadership roles as well as operational executive positions in companies such as Expedia Group, Myspace, Rhapsody/Napster, and Nordstrom. Laura currently works for Uber, overseeing People Experience and Operations and creating the vision and strategy for the Uber employee experience.
Michelle runs B2B Marketing across lines of business at Uber. She has spent almost her entire career in B2B, first at Google where she helped scale Google Cloud marketing globally then at Kabbage, a fintech startup, where she got to launch her first (and only) celebrity TV campaign. Outside of work, she's usually trying to beat her kids at card games, setting up obstacle courses in the backyard or taking a Peloton class.
