- Overview
- The Uber for Business x Qantas Frequent Flyer sweepstakes (Sweepstakes) is promoted by Uber Australia Pty Ltd (ABN 49 160 299 865) (we, us or our)
- By entering the all entrants (you or your) agree to be bound by these terms and conditions (Terms) and our Privacy Notice. Any breach of these Terms may result in disqualification from the Sweepstakes.
- To the extent of any inconsistency between these Terms and any other reference to the Sweepstakes, these Terms prevail.
- The Sweepstakes:
- begins at 7:00am AEST on 04 July 2024; and
- ends at 2:00pm AEST on 04 July 2024, (Promotion Period)
- Eligibility
- This Sweepstakes is open to Australian residents aged 18 years or over.
- Employees and contractors (and their Immediate Families) of Uber Australia Pty Ltd and Qantas Airways Limited, our Related Bodies Corporate and the agencies associated with this Sweepstakes are ineligible to participate in this Sweepstakes.
- How to enter
- The Sweepstakes is a game of chance.
- To enter the Sweepstakes, you must
- Enter your details to identify if your employer has an “Uber for Business” dashboard
- If your employer has an “Uber for Business” dashboard and you are an eligible employee, you must link your business profile to your Uber account; if you are not an eligible employee, no action is required
- If your employer does not have an “Uber for Business” dashboard, you will be asked for your contact information and details on the company you work for; if you are not currently employed, no action is required
- All participants must have linked their Uber and Qantas Frequent Flyer accounts before they can enter the Sweepstakes.
- You can only participate in the Sweepstakes once and can spin the wheel one time.
- We will not accept entries outside the Promotion Period.
- We may, at any time:
- verify the validity of entries and entrants (including your identity, age and location); and
- disqualify any entrant whose entry is not in accordance with these Terms or who otherwise tampers or interferes with the entry process.
- If there is a dispute as to your identity or details, we reserve the right to determine your identity or details and our determination is final.
- Draws and winners
- Participants can spin the wheel one time to earn prizes on the day of the Sweepstakes
- Included prizes are as follows:
- $50 Uber credit
- Qantas Business Class sleeper suit - 50 total units available, first participants to receive will “win”; once units are exhausted alternate prizes will be provided.
- 100,000 Qantas Points - 10 total units available, first participants to receive will “win”; once units are exhausted alternate prizes will be provided.
- Uber umbrella - 50 total units available, first participants to receive will “win”; once units are exhausted alternate prizes will be provided.
- 1,000 Qantas Points - 12 total units available, first participants to receive will “win”; once units are exhausted alternate prizes will be provided.
- $500 Qantas Hotels and Holidays voucher - 13 total units available, first participants to receive will “win”; once units are exhausted alternate prizes will be provided.
- Participants will spin the wheel to earn prizes at 32 Martin Place, Sydney, New South Wales, 2000, between Pitt Street and Castlereagh Street.
- Winners will be notified of prizes at the time of spin the wheel.
- The name of the winners may be published on our websites and social media pages, and in any other promotional material that we consider relevant. By entering the Sweepstakes, you consent to us publishing your details.
- If a Prize cannot be loaded into a winner’s Qantas Frequent Flyer account in accordance with 5.(a), that winner forfeits the Prize.
- Prizes
- 100,000 points winners will receive the 100,000 Qantas Points to their Qantas Frequent Flyer account (notional value of AUD$7,775) within 21 days of the end of the Promotion Period.
- 1,000 points winners will receive the 1,000 Qantas Points to their Qantas Frequent Flyer account (notional value of AUD$78) within 21 days of the end of the Promotion Period.
- The notional value of the prizes, is based on a sample of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program (as fully defined in the terms and conditions of the program available at qantas.com/terms). For example, 41,900 Qantas Points could be redeemed for a Flex one way Economy Classic Flight Reward from Sydney to Los Angeles plus AU$223 in applicable taxes, fees and carrier charges, accurate as at 17 June 2024. The dollar fare for an equivalent commercial flight totals AU$2,857 including taxes, fees and carrier charges.
- The estimate of the maximum notional value of each prize is provided for information purposes only. The maximum notional value of each prize will vary depending on whether and how it is redeemed by a winner through the Qantas Frequent Flyer program. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the maximum notional value of each prize.
- Each Prize is awarded and must be redeemed, in accordance with and subject to the Terms and Conditions of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program (Qantas.com/terms), the Qantas Store Terms of Use (Qantas.com/store), voucher terms and conditions (including expiry rules) if relevant, and any other terms and conditions disclosed at the time of redemption.
- The redemption of each Prize is subject to the availability of rewards that may be obtained through the Qantas Frequent Flyer program.
- Each prize must be taken as stated and no compensation will be payable if a winner is unable to use the prize as stated. Prizes are not exchangeable or redeemable for cash or other goods or services. A prize cannot be transferred to any other person, unless agreed to by the Promoter. It is a condition of accepting a prize that the winner accepts the conditions of use of that prize.
- If the prize (or part of the prize) is unavailable, the Promoter, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize (or that part of the prize) with a prize to the equal value and/or specification, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority.
- We are not liable for any additional, incidental, or related costs in connection with winning the Sweepstakes or using the Prize.
- You should seek independent advice, including financial advice, as implications (such as tax) may arise as a result of winning the prizes.
- Use of the Prize is subject to the Qantas Frequent Flyer Terms and Conditions. Prizes are not transferable, saleable or redeemable as cash, credit or equivalent.
- $500 Qantas Hotels and Holidays vouchers winners (notional value of AUD$500) will receive voucher during the event. Voucher is valid until 31 July 2025 and can be used for part or full payment of your booking with Qantas Hotels. If the total value of the voucher is not used in one transaction, the remaining amount can be used before the voucher expiry date.. If after using your Voucher there is a balance remaining to be paid, you must pay this balance with a credit/charge card or through the use of Qantas Points if you are a member of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program. If you make a change to your booking, any applicable change fees will need to be paid by you with a credit/charge card. if the value of your revised booking is greater than the original booking, you will be required to pay the difference with a credit/charge card to secure your revised booking. If the value of your revised booking is less than the original booking, you will be refunded the difference to the original method of payment (up to a maximum of the amount paid in cash or Qantas Points - any amount paid using a Voucher is non-refundable). If you cancel your booking, the value of the Voucher will not be refunded and no replacement Voucher will be issued. Any booking cancellation fees cannot be paid for using the Voucher, and will be payable by you with a credit/charge card. - Personal information
- By entering the Sweepstakes, you consent to us:
- publishing your Personal Information, or disclosing your Personal Information as required by relevant laws;
- using your name and photograph for promotional purposes, unless you otherwise notify us at the time of receiving the prize; and
- using your Personal Information to communicate with you about the Sweepstakes

- We may disclose your Personal Information to our Related Companies for the purposes described above.
- If you do not consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Information for the purposes described above, you must not participate in the Sweepstakes.

- how you may access, correct or delete your Personal Information; and
- how you may make, and how we will handle, a privacy complaint.
- Liability
- Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded, restricted or modified.
- Subject to clause 8(a) and to the fullest extent permitted by law, we and our Related Companies (and each of their officers, directors, employees, contractors and agents):
- are not responsible for any error, omission, interruption, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure or any other event beyond our control. In these circumstances, if we elect to cancel or postpone the Sweepstakes, we do so without liability and may reschedule it on the same terms;
- make no express or implied warranties, representations or guarantees, in fact or in law, regarding the Sweepstakes or the merchantability, quality or fitness for purpose of any part of the Prize; and
- exclude all liability (including for negligence) for any personal injury or loss or damage (including for loss of opportunity, business, goodwill or profits), whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Sweepstakes, including where arising out of:
- any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under our control);
- any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference;
- any prize claim that fails to be transmitted or is cancelled, delayed, deleted, interrupted or late (whether or not after our receipt or otherwise);
- any variation in Prize value;
- any tax liability or similar charge incurred by the winner; or
- use of a Prize by a winner.
- We are not responsible for any problem or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer systems, servers, providers or equipment, software, traffic congestion on the internet or any website, or any combination of those, including any injury or damage to entrants or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating in the Sweepstakes.
- You are solely responsible for any costs associated with entering the Sweepstakes
- Without limiting any other terms, you indemnify us and our Related Bodies Corporate (and their officers, directors, employees, contractors and agents) from and against your breach of these Terms.
- Disruption to Sweepstakes
- If, for any reason, the Sweepstakes is affected or interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as planned due to a Force Majeure Event, including where such circumstance corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes, we may, to the fullest extent permitted by law:
- disqualify any entrant who tampers or interferes with the entry process; or
- subject to required regulatory approval, cancel, terminate, modify, reschedule or suspend the Sweepstakes, as appropriate.
- Any entrant found to be tampering or interfering with the entry process will have all entries invalidated and any claim to a prize will be invalidated. We will determine whether a breach has occurred at our discretion and may request any documentation.
- General
- Any failure to enforce our rights does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
- To the extent permitted by law, the Sweepstakes may be withdrawn or cancelled at any time at our discretion.
- Any part of these Terms that is illegal, void or unenforceable may be severed, and the remainder will continue in force.
- Unless otherwise stated, the plural includes the singular and vice-versa.
- The Sweepstakes and any issues relating to the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Terms will be governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.

- Definitions
- Force Majeure Event means an event or circumstance beyond our reasonable control, including natural disaster, acts of war, riots, vandalism, failure or shortage of power supplies or other essential utility, pandemic, epidemic, quarantine or other widespread or serious threat to human health (including an outbreak or recurrence), strike, a change in applicable law or platform rules, government imposed shutdown or closure, infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud or technical failures, down time or issues.
- Immediate Families means any of the following (whether natural, step or adopted): spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child, parent, grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew or sibling.
- Personal Information has the meaning in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
- Related Bodies Corporate has the meaning in the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth).
